Isaiah 60. 3

No One Beyond Reach

Scripture: “And nations shall come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising.”
— Isaiah 60.3

MAIN POINT: If God’s blessing flows as far as the curse is found, no one is beyond the reach of His grace.

There is a narrative that has become common in our day—the idea that the Church is under attack, that we must circle the wagons and protect ourselves from the dangerous world outside. Epiphany disrupts this narrative entirely.

If the blessing of God in Christ truly flows as far as the curse is found, then there is no one beyond its reach. There is no person so lost, so strange, so far gone that God’s grace cannot find them. The Magi prove this. If pagan sorcerers from the east could be drawn to worship Jesus, anyone can.

Think of the people in your community who seem farthest from Christ. The skeptic who mocks the faith. The addict trapped in destructive patterns. The neighbor whose lifestyle seems utterly opposed to everything you believe. Epiphany invites you to imagine them gathered for worship. Because God specializes in drawing unlikely people to Himself.

This is not wishful thinking. This is the mission of the Church. We are called to serve boldly, connect deeply, and trust that God is transforming our community—one unlikely worshiper at a time. We do not circle the wagons. We open the doors. We go out to where people are. We point them to the light.

Reflection: The Church’s mission is to reach the unlikely. Who is one “unlikely” person you could pray for or reach out to this week? What barriers—in your heart or in practice—keep you from believing God can reach them?

PRAYER: Missionary God, expand my vision for who You can save. Remove the barriers in my heart that write off certain people as beyond hope. Use me to point others to the light of Christ. In His saving name. Amen.
