Living as Saints

Living as Saints
November 7, 2025 Day 311

1 John 3.1- 2

Living as Saints

“See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are. The reason why the world does not know us is that it did not know him. Beloved, we are God’s children now, and what we will be has not yet appeared; but we know that when he appears we shall be like him, because we shall see him as he is.” (1 John 3.1-2)

Main Point: We are called not just to remember the saints but to live as saints ourselves.

When we remember saints, we’re not just honoring the past. We’re recognizing that we too are part of God’s ongoing grace story. In baptism, God reached down and touched you. He claimed you as His own, brought you into His Kingdom.

John declares, “We are God’s children now”—not “will be” but “are.” Right now. You are a saint—not because of perfection but because of grace.

What does living as a saint mean? “Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God” (Matthew 5.7-9).

Living as a saint means allowing God’s grace to flow through you to others. Showing mercy because you’ve received mercy. Making peace because Christ made peace between you and God. Living with hope because “when he appears we shall be like him.”

You don’t wait until you’re perfect. You’re already a saint in Christ. Now live in that reality.

Reflection: Being a saint means living in the grace God has already given. How can you let His grace flow through you this week? Who needs to experience God’s mercy through you?

Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for calling me Your child and making me a saint through Christ. Help me live worthy of this calling by Your grace working in me. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
